London Stansted Airport is approved as a UK Border Inspection Post (BIP) on the European Union’s “List of Border Inspection Posts”, facilitating the importation of Products of Animal Origin (POAO). The airport is also authorised as a Designated Point of Entry (DPE) for the import of high risk Non Animal Origin products(NAO) and as a Designated Point of Import (DPI) for products that may be contaminated by Aflatoxins.

The STN BIP is approved for Third Countries (non-EU members) imports of:
Live animals including ungulates and equine.
Packaged Animal products for human consumption imported at ambient temperatures.
Packaged Animal products not intended for human consumption imported at ambient temperatures.
Frozen or chilled goods cannot be handled at the STN BIP, however should there be any long term requirements for such capability please contact the M.A.G Cargo team here.

Non-animal Products:
Imports of certain feed and food of non-animal origin, from certain non-EU countries, that are considered to be 'high-risk' can only enter the UK through specific ports and airports approved as designated points of entry (DPEs) where official controls will be carried out. Safeguard controls on certain food products due to aflatoxin contamination under Regulation (EU) No. 884/2014. Consignments must be accompanied by a health certificate and results of sampling and analysis. Sampling of consignments would be done at a designated points of import (DPI).
